It is Spring Break this week and the Brumbaugh household has been a buzz getting ready for our planned activities.
This year, we are able to go out of town to see Mark's family in Tennessee. This is Mark's 4th year in seminary, but the first year we have been able to "fly the coupe" during this week long break. In years past, Mark has worked for Fedex which meant he had to work in the evenings but had the mornings off of school. Last year, Mark was in the transition phase of owning Brumbaugh Lawncare which meant that he was up at 5:00am reading and wiriting, then working the Lawn business by himself in the AM and then heading off to Fedex until 9:30pm. Needless to say...Spring Break has often had a painful undercurrent to mean...AHHHHHHH!!! CHAOS!
Praise God that this year Mark's business can run without him in town...he has to make a few phone calls here and there...but Jon and Wesley are efficiently now running their own route!
Needless to say, the car was packed Tuesday and we were ready to hit the road bright and early (4:00am) Wednesday morning.
Our Tuesday evening checklist went as such...
1. boys bathed and clothed for trip...double diapered to ensure no leak through overnight causing us to have to change their clothes before the trip
2. Car packed...I had been working on this for a few days but I wanted to complete it before the morning rush.
3. Consignment items cleaned, pressed, hung, tagged, inventoried, and dropped-off.
4. Dinner made with whatever remnants were in the fridge.
5. Mark feeling better after being laid up all day with the flu...
6. Anne catching the 24 hour flu and being up all night with nausea and general duties associated with checklist item #7
7. Titus catching the 12 hour flu and being up several times due to its violent effects...(I would classify this as the "Spills" part of my title to the post:)
8. Change Time of Departure to 5:00am...
9. Change time of departure to 6:00am...
10. Time of Departure Wednesday, 11:00am.
Stay tuned for the rest of the story.....

I was wondering which 3/4 of you guys were afflicted. I'm glad you made it to TN safely. Have fun with the Brumbaughs!
