Everyday Life

embracing

Not quite yet, but I'm working on it.  Mommyhood to 4 boys so young is so much fun...but I'm noticing so many changes in my personal appearance.  Wrinkles, gray hairs, chubby areas, bags under my eyes, a brain that seems to misfire far more than it hits the target, stiff joints, age spots, greasy hair (most days)...etc.  Yes, most days, I hide from the camera, but this particular day...I embraced it.  I had been snapping pictures of my boys on the swings while playing outside with them.  Mind you, my idea of playing outside used to be cooking mudd pies, having picnics with my baby dolls, and playing tag.  Now,  my idea of playing outside consists of dodging pretend bullets, playing tackle football with Titus while trying to keep up with the soccer ball Ezra is kicking my way and trying to dodge the basketball Simeon loves to "pass" as hard as he can.  Whew, that may sound exaggerated, but believe me, even neighbors have noticed.  Oh, and might I add that with these 4 little boys....It is NEVER too cold to go outside and play.  I'm amazed at what these boys will endure in order to get outside for a few minutes.  However,  I love hearing the carefree laughs and squeals of excitement....coming from me!  Oh how I want to savor every afternoon of playtime and every insane moment of tackle boccerball So, Here's to motherhood! Anybody else ready to come out from hiding????

miss you too, Deb! Maybe a summer reunion is in our future??? My house is simply fantastic for boys....big fenced in yard and a concrete basement that is stocked with plenty of fun, and even houses a bounce house! So, what are you waiting for????
and yes, I've had the nose ring almost a year...It's small and hard to see in pictures. However, it makes me smile when I catch a glimpse of it.

I think motherhood has made you more beautiful, fwiw. And, I totally hear you about boys and outside playing in the cold - and mine want to wear SHORTS when it's 27 degrees. "I'll be ok, mom..."

I'm all over that summer trip up there if timing works out. We have no idea where God is leading our family with the Navy so we'll see where we're living first. :-) I think coming up to your house is a GRAND idea!!! I love you bunches and adore reading your blog!
