Nestled
Titus is all over the place! I have enjoyed watching him learn the progression sitting up on his own to crawling around and now to pulling up on anything he thinks is "sturdy" enough to hold him.
However, the process doesn't come without some bumps, bruises, and funny stories. I won't bore you all with too many of these incidents, but I must explain the picture to the left. We are in the process of trying to sell our victorian style living room couch and love seat. These 2 pieces are on these 12" pedestal legs making them ideal for storage; however, once we got the leather couch and chair, we moved the couches around and moved the storage baskets out from underneath of the couches. The love seat is in our bedroom for the time being and this is where our picture story begins.
I was getting ready to go to the grocery store and I let Titus play in the floor with a brown paper bag (to the left of him in the picture). As I was getting ready I could hear him talking and squealing while hitting the brown bag and making lots of noise. I kinda tuned it out for a few minutes and then realized that his noises were more like uncomfortable grunts and groans. I walked over to where I had left him and I didn't see him immediately...but I knew he had to be nearby because I could hear him. I knelt down and this is what I found...I jumped up...like any mom would do... and ran to get the camera. Titus didn't appreciate that very much, but I just laughed and told him I had to document this moment. He smiled for the picture and then because screaming because he was trying to sit up and every time he tried...his head thumped the bottom of the couch. I was laughing so hard that I was afraid I was going to wet my pants...but Titus was not finding much humor in his predicament. I was trying to get him unstuck, but he had wedged himself in there pretty snugly. Needless to say, I had to fold him in half and pull him straight out. Good thing babies are flexible! Let's just say that Titus has not been back under the couch since that incident. I am sitting here laughing out loud as I write this post wishing I would have had a video camera to truly catch the emotion of his predicament. He was screaming...and then he would start laughing...then bump his head and start the cycle all over again! What a hoot. I now have to sign off because I have horrible hiccups from laughing all over again!

Funny story! Good thing kids are so flexible. Are you expecting?
Annie- so funny- I could picture the whole thing in my head, and was laughing just reading it. I can't wait to get Emma & Titus together- they've changed so much just in these past few weeks!
I am laughing not just at Titus getting himself into that predicament but that you ran to get your camera to capture the moment before rescuing him. I would've done the exact same thing! Like you said, video would've been even better; I've thought that several times with funny things Kayla has done.
What a funny story! Thanks for sharing.
Titus is so adorable! He looks all grown up. I laughed at your story b/c that's exactly what I would have done - grabbed my camera. :-)
Awwwww . . .
He is such a cutie! I think that the Brumbaughs need to do a family picture when you are all together this fall; at least get some pictures of Titus with his three Brumbaugh cousins!
what a funny story...:) thanks for your comment. i just look at lots of potterybarn catalogues and restoration hardware. they give me lots of good ideas. i just pick colors that i really like too. we're planning on painting our "office" red. that one i'm a little nervous about. which is probably why it still isn't finished. :) or maybe its just that i don't like painting. :)
Anne, Titus is so cute! That was a very funny story and I could picture the whole thing in my head as you were describing it.
