Ezra's Big Escape

A few mornings ago, I was cleaning up the breakfast dishes while the boys finished up their cheerios and were talking and giggling with each other. I could hear the boys fine and they seemed happy, so I just stuck my head around the corner very quickly to keep my eyes informed of the happenings in the dining room. I am sure you have had a moment like the one I will describe...you know the moment when your minds sets up the scene and you decide to "check" on things by using your eyes to confirm the image.
Well, I was doing just that. I knew the boys were fine, but I stuck my head around the corner to glance at the scene in the dining room. You know, one of those 1/2 second glances...just for good measure. As I looked back into the kitchen my mind immediately started questioning what it had processed in that instant....and it did not match what my original thought had been. You see....

this is what I saw....
funny thing (insert that I now am experiencing the annoying underlining issue that blogger randomly has). I doubted myself for one minute...and then confirmed that I indeed had put Ezra in his booster seat before we ate together......and yes, he was still in his booster seat when I left to do the dishes. So, I was a bit confused. Mark had left early that morning....Titus was still buckled in his seat....????? What had just happened? Ezra just kept looking at me with this exact facial expression...as if to say, "what, mom.....you think that ol' booster seat can stop me?
As I stood in amazement I began thinking of just what had happened. At this point I began walking towards the table and Ezra just watched me with this smug look...

...then I saw this...

Yes, Ezra was standing next to the booster seat on the little ledge of the chair. One leg was bent forward like he was casually leaning himself against a support...He was so smug....as if to say..."Come on mom....did you really thing I was going to sit there while you were cleaning?"
after watching him (while giggling profusely) for a minute or two....I realized that he was completely balanced and not at all worried.....so I ran upstairs and grabbed the camera to share this unbelievable moment with each of you. Kinda funny that when this happened he was still 7 months...he has tried it a few times since.....but has not been successful b/c mean old mommy doesn't want him making a habit of this! Even though it was quite entertaining to see how proud he was of his accomplishment!! (He obviously knew this far surpassed his feats of climbing the dishwasher...or the stairs!:)

Pretty impressive! Eli would get out of his high chair and be standing in his seat looking all around and within seconds of jumping down (if I wasn't right there holding him down!!) Little boys are quite mischievieous!!!

This kid cracks me up! I'm surprised T wasn't saying "Ezra David...No" as he was climbing out! Next thing you know Ezra will be helping T out of his seat!
